If you are radiography student (AS) who searching for education you will be interest in following questions and answers.
1. What is the point of having a BS in Radiography? You probably hearing that there is no pay difference?
If you are working as a general radiographer, then you are paid as a general radiographer, simple as that. It doesn’t matter what kind of degree you have. The pay difference between a 2- and 4-year degree is in your future, not your present. Do you want to eventually go into management or education? You will be able to do that MUCH more easily if you already have a 4-year degree.
2. If I get a BS in Radiologic Sciences can I automatically take registries to work as a CT, MRI, or Nuc Medicine tech? Or do I still have to take separate certificate programs?
If you get a BS in the Radiologic Sciences, NO. You do not get to “automatically” take the certifications for advanced modalities. As always, there are clinical hour requirements to becoming eligible to sit those exams (just as there is for general Radiography), and earning a BS/BA will not address those clinical requirements. You must still do additional training.
